Closed to the public for two years, the Grand Apartments of the Princely Palace reopen their doors this Friday

It is a place that is coming back to life for the general public. From Friday 1st July, the Grand Apartments of the Princely Palace will once again welcome visitors after two years of closure in the midst of the Covid crisis.

The interval has led the teams of the royal household to completely revise the scenography and the tour of the premises. On the one hand, to highlight the restored frescoes on several walls and ceilings of these spaces.

On the other hand, to better tell the story of the Grimaldi dynasty. From the outset, we discover the first portrait of a lord of Monaco. The portrait of Lucien, sovereign from 1505 to 1523, welcomes visitors arriving from the Hercules Gallery - overlooking the main courtyard - in the Chambre d'Europe, where the visit begins.
